Week beginning 8th February 2021

This week we will be thinking about rhyme, something that's really useful when we are practicing spelling. We will be reading some hilarious books, inventing and playing some games with rhyme and listening and even writing our own rhyming book.

Safer Internet Day is on Tuesday 9th February and this year's theme is trust. We will be thinking about whether you can trust the information you can find online. Is everything you read on there actually true? Detective Digiduck will be helping us sort out what's real and what needs to be checked and we will talk about how you should always talk to a trusted adult you see anything online that you are not sure of.

We are launching a new active challenge at school to celebrate the Tokyo Olympics which will be happening later this year. Can you complete enough physical activity as part of our school team to help us travel the 47,000km to Tokyo?

We will be working on comparing and ordering quantities this week and will start to use the >, < and = signs in our number sentences.

There are so many excellent books to share this week we have had to group them into folders! We hope you enjoy looking through them and listening to the stories.
We know access to reading books is difficult at the moment, but if you are in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, we now have access to an online library for you to use. If you are in Y3 or above, we hope to have your reading book links available as soon as possible. You can get to your new reading books by following the link on our main Cubhouse page - it's Collins Big Cat Reading, and we will make sure your username and passwords are sent to you via a private Dojo message. Please let us know if you have any problems via Dojo and we will do our best to solve them.
