We really enjoy our sport at Hilton Primary School and provide as many opportunities as we can for our children to participate in and enjoy physical activity. We want all of them to experience the thrill of representing their house or school and to feel part of a team.
In 2016 our football team took part in the 'Kids Cup' national final and played at Wembley. Following the appointment of our new Sports Coach, Jojo Latham, our teams have gone form strength to strength. We enter team into the majority of tournaments organised by the South Derbyshire Sports Partnership but also host tournaments ourselves.
We have entered the Kid Cup again this year and emerged as winners in each of the two qualifying tournaments. We are now representing Derby County Football Club and heading to the Rotherham to take part in the North of England regional competition. If we win again here we'll be heading back to Wembley. https://twitter.com/DCCTOfficial/status/1093170321367064576
Year 1 learn about Africa.
Marian from Footprints Orphanage http://www.footprintsorphanage.com/ kindly came to visit the Year One children to talk about her work with children in Kenya. Year One were fascinated by her descriptions of the children's homes and daily lives. We learnt about what the Kenyan children like to do and how charities like this can help them improve lives through providing clean water and education. Marian gave us an exciting recount of her safari adventure and we loved hearing about the different animals that we have been learning so much about in school. She brought in some beautiful Masai fabric and we dressed up. A big thank you to Marian for sharing her experiences with us all!
